As I said previously, I had the great privilege to storyboard for Cartoon Network on episodes of Generator Rex!
This segment was a fun departure from all the action/adventure stuff, in that my challenge here was to make a 'talking heads' sequence visually interesting. There were certainly moving parts, such as the ship flying & landing, the ladder extending and lowering, things like that. But all still within the context of characters just talking to one another.
I am always interested to see how closely the animation keeps to the boards I did, and this episode was pretty spot on, with a couple of exceptions. The shots of the Mayor in his office reacting to the ship arriving had been added after I turned in my boards, and there are some minor tweaks in character placement and composition that you can see if you choose to compare the final frames (linked below) to the finished animation.
